Time for the Broncos to WAKE UP!

The Brisbane Broncos are at a curious crossroads.
After doing reasonably well without Lockyer for a big chunk of the season, the future looked bright with both he and Wallace returning for the Bulldogs game and carrying the expectation of their fans with them.
Unfortunately no one thought to remind the rest of the team that their efforts were also needed to actually win the game.
To be blunt, the Broncos were average against the Bulldogs. And after the FNF game against the Cowboys, they haven't seemed to have got much better. I guess this is what is commonly referred to as 'gelling'.
That maybe be true, but the solution is so much simpler... support the man in the number six jersey.
Darren Lockyer is the greatest attacking player of the decade, what he does adds real pace to everything that the Broncos do. Simple.
There was no dark secret to the success under Wayne Bennett, only that Darren Lockyer attacks at a hundred miles an hour. On TV you can easily see what he is about to do, but he does it so fast, the opposition are instantly on the back foot.
Right now the Broncos are watching Lockyer and trying to catch up when he moves. They should never be that far behind. But he is moving so fast and catching his team mates on the back foot too.
He needs movement with him at all times, Denan Kemp, Karmichael Hunt, Dave Taylor and Darius Boyd need to aim for the holes and move with speed. Lockyer’s passing is pin point and as long as they remember to catch the ball (note to Tonie Carroll) the Broncos would be unstoppable.
Time for a team chat I reckon, to ask themselves 'do we really want the title or not?'
Of course they do and it's time to not only play hard but start to play smart - and remember who the playmaker is...
