Interesting to see that Costigan wants to reunite with Bennett even though he was sacked from the Broncos a few years ago.
And apologies about the lack of content on the site in recent times. It's been pretty busy lately for both myself and BroncoKiwi. Hopefully we can get some writing happening over the next week or so!

As for the Lockyer one, he's been saying in the media he wants to see out his current contract, so I'm going to take his word on that.
Also, watch out for the Broncos to announce the signing of a dummy half in the near future. Not quite sure who it is though..

Would you happen to have a link to a news article about the signings of Armit and Cleal? I had a quick look around on the internet but I couldn't find anything.
Just want to double check to make sure.

More players leaving the NRL, it's starting to get a bit tiresome..
And by the way, what are your feelings about this week's match previews? Please feel free to add your thoughts to those as well!

I tend to agree with your thoughts on the game, Manly will come out all guns blazing. The Dragons have got the skill though, it'll go right down to the wire I feel.

Mate i know how it feels like to have some of the best players in the world leave the NRL competition to go play in the ESL,French Rugby or wateva. Not all players are like this though, look at Greg Inglis, resigned by the Storm on a long term countract. Thats loyalty. Also,we may be losing some of the best players of the world, but we are also gaining some young superstars from the Toyota cup U20s competition. Chris Sandow, a player once in the Toyota Cup, now playing 1st grade for Rabbitohs, who earlier in the season hadn't won a match, until he came along...
Just don't worry about the superstars leaving, they are doing it for their careers. Just look st the shining superstarts coming through from the Toyota Cup
Cheers Mate

Personally, I think the NRL need to introduce salary cap concessions of some sort for long serving players. The likes of Danny Buderus, Brett Hodgson and Steve Menzies have the right to earn one big final paycheck in Australia.
And thanks to all for scouting out some signings. I'll update the article where relevant.

As for the Tigers' new signings.. the only new players for 2009 are second rowers Gareth Ellis playmaker Josh Lewis.
They're definitely losing more quality than they're gaining.

To the first anonymous comment.. yep unfortunately Menzies is off to Bradford. David Williams is staying with Manly and they're gaining another Williams as well. Tony Williams from Parramatta is heading across to the Sea Eagles.
Second comment.. it's often hard to keep track of the younger signings as there's hardly any media coverage.
Third comment.. I remember reading about those signings somewhere - consider the article updated!

Thanks for all the comments and apologies that the site hasn't been very active over the past week or so - I've been particularly busy and just haven't had the time to write anything. Hopefully I'll get some world cup related thoughts posted over the next day or few.
I'll update the signings list where appropriate.
And by the way, I couldn't find any details about Pat Richards on the internet. Is this just a rumour? Or, did you read something, somewhere?

The only Eels signing of note is dummy half Kevin Kingston but they have signed a few fringe players and U20s.
Wests Tigers have picked up England international Gareth Ellis who is on show in the World Cup at the moment. Dane Laurie and Josh Lewis are the other two significant acquisitions.
And cheers for the comments folks. Free free to comment on other articles across the site as well !

Three more players have been added to the Vodafone Warriors’ 2009 NRL squad – one out of the Auckland club competition, another coming home after a stint in Sydney and the third re-signed on a new deal.
Former Pakuranga front rower Herman Retzlaff (21), a regular for the Auckland Vulcans in the New South Wales Cup this year, is staying with the Vodafone Warriors for a second season with an option for 2010.
And joining him are Tongan-born Ukuma Ta’ai (22) as well as Christchurch-born and bred hooker Lewis Brown (22). They’ve also been playing in the NSW Cup, Ta’ai with the Vulcans and Brown with Wests Tigers feeder club Balmain Ryde.
Second rower Ta’ai was signed after impressive form for Mt Albert in Auckland’s Fox Memorial competition while Brown, who started playing league with the Riccarton Knights in Christchurch, caught the eye with his efforts for the Tigers.
“Signing these three players is all about building depth in our wider squad and, at the same time, it’s important for us in development terms that we’re able to bring through players from the local scene,” said coach Ivan Cleary.
“In Herman’s case, we were able to bring a New Zealander home from Sydney and it’s the same with Lewis. They’re local products who have had a taste of being involved in and around an NRL club in Sydney.
“With Ukuma we have been able to sign someone directly from the local competition. We see potential in him and he has fitted in well since he started training with our NRL squad recently.”
Like Retzlaff, Brown has been signed for 2009 with an option for 2010 while Ta’ai has been signed until the end of 2010 with an option for 2011.
Retzlaff, educated at Mt Albert Grammar School, was with Wests Tigers in 2006-07 before trialling for the Vodafone Warriors and clinching a one-year contract for 2008.
The three players will be part of a larger Vodafone Warriors 2009 NRL squad which will also include recently re-signed Vodafone Junior Warriors Daniel O’Regan and Mataupu Poching. They turned 20 this year and will be ineligible for the NYC competition next year.
